Motivation is definitely an area I struggle with, as I'm sure everyone does at some point! Because, let's be honest, running isn't always fun. There are a lot of days that I would rather sleep in or do practically anything else besides run. The best thing I have found to keep me motivated to get out of bed and out the door is to do a running streak. I run at least one mile every day. Some days I run really easy and stop after a mile and some days I run hard and keep going because it feels good. Running every day has helped me to realize that I never regret running after I'm done and that most of the time I'm even glad I went for a run. At the end of this month, it will be a whole year that I've run every day, and I'd like to see how much longer I can go. To help keep me motivated to train at a more intense level, I stay connected with my running friends via Garmin Connect or Strava. Sometimes (ok, ok, most of the time) I don't want to do a speed workout but seeing their workouts - and knowing they'll be checking mine - helps to keep me accountable to the training schedule. - Ambassador Teri Akovenko
