For starters, you get to come race in this amazing city we love called Chattanooga! You will receive a race bag with goodies and offers from our partners and sponsors. At packet pick-up you will receive a race t-shirt. Once you cross that magical finish line you will receive an awesome finishers medal. We will have fully stocked aid stations every other mile. Just a few short steps away from the finish line is our Post Race Party.

Yes, the Chattanooga Marathon is a certified course, therefore, a Boston Marathon qualifier.

They do! Due to the layout of the course, our pacers will all be doing the full marathon, but they will pace the half marathon to mile 13. We will have pacers for the following:

The Chattanooga Marathon Weekend Expo and Packet Pickup is held Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is where you’ll come to pick up your race packet, peruse the vendors, purchase Chattanooga Marathon merchandise and in general have a good time while hanging out with other runners. You must pick up your race packet at the Expo. Your race packet contains your race bib which you must have to run!!

The Expo will be held at First Horizon Pavilion located at 1826 Reggie White Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37408. The hours are Friday, March 27 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, Saturday, March 28 from 9:00am to 2:00pm and Sunday, March 29 from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Race packets will not be mailed. You must come to the Expo in order to get your race packet and you will need to present your confirmation email. The race packet will have your race bib, and you will not be allowed on the course without  your race bib.

Yes, but we do not recommend this for the marathon and half marathon!  There will be an emergency race day packet pickup on Sunday from 5:30 am to 7:30 am at the First Horizon Pavilion. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!

Yes - we don’t have a problem with that, but you must present a copy of a photo ID of that person along with their confirmation email. And make sure everyone is wearing the correct bib if you are picking up multiple packets. Don’t get the packets mixed up.

Your race bib, timing device and bag check tag attached to your race bib and final instructions along with other goodies from vendors and businesses will be in your race bag. You MUST have your race bib and timing device in order to run the race.

All participants will be issued race bibs that will be distributed during packet pickup. You will need to contact the timer and give them your approximate finishing time and they will be able to cross reference their manual timing.

Thanks to our partnership with Finley Stadium, we have plenty of free parking all weekend long in the Finley Stadium lots. Please check the parking map on the website for more info. We do ask that you not park anywhere along the route. This is for your benefit. There is also no parking on the south side of the First Horizon Pavilion lot for anyone all weekend. Please adhere to the no parking signs in this area.

All races throughout the weekend, Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 5K and the Kids Fun Run start and finish right in front of the First Horizon Pavilion (1826 Reggie White Blvd, Chattanooga TN 37408). 

There is no race day registration for the Half and Full Marathon. There is race day registration if space is still available for the 5K and Kid's Fun Run. Please see the schedule for start times.

No. Due to the upfront nature of events, we do not offer refunds. 

In-line skates, bicycles, unauthorized vehicles and unregistered runners are prohibited on the course. No pets or smoking on the course PLEASE! Any participant breaking one of these rules will be removed from the course, disqualified and will not receive finisher’s amenities. These rules are mandated by our insurance policy and race directors and are for your safety and the safety of the thousands of other runners on the course.

Bag check is available for all participants who want to leave their clothing or other items in a secure, checked area during the race. Bag check is located  in the First Horizon Pavilion. You will see volunteers ready to help you. All items must be contained in a CLEAR PLASTIC BAG. We will provide those if you don't have one.   All bags must be claimed by 3pm at the finish line.

Shoot us an email and we will try and reunite you with your items. Items that are discarded along the race route will NOT be returned to the Lost and Found. They will be donated to local charities.

In most cases the culprit is your spam filter that blocks our emails. You can login to your haku account and click on "Your Events" tab at the top to confirm.

Registration fees help cover the cost of the event expenses. Race proceeds go to the Chattanooga Tourism Company and other local non-profits.

The race will take place if it is raining. The race will only be cancelled/delayed if weather conditions pose imminent danger to our participants.

We recommend arriving at the finish area at First Horizon Pavilion no later than 8:00am on Saturday, and no later than 6:30 am on Sunday.

The marathon time limit is 6 hours. This is to ensure the safety of our runners and because the Chattanooga Police will only close the roads for the course for a certain number of hours.

Walkers are welcome to participate as long as they stay within the six hour time limit.  So as long as you can keep a 13.7 minute mile pace or better, you are welcome to walk.

Half Marathon - since this is a looped course the same 6 hour time limit is set or the half marathon.

Chip time is used to determine age group awards.

Marathon and Half Marathon: Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age divisions: 14 and under (half marathon only), 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.  All finishers will receive a finishers medal.

Marathon Relay: Awards will be given to the top three overall teams. All finishers will receive a finishers medal. 

5K: Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age divisions; 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. All finishers will receive a finishers medal.

Kids Fun Run: Everyone will receive a finishers medal but we will not have awards for this event.

The awards ceremony for the 5K will take place on Saturday, March 28th at approximately 10:00 am.  There is not an awards ceremony for the Kid's Fun Run.

The awards ceremony for the half marathon will take place on Sunday, March 29th between 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the Expo. The awards ceremony for the full marathon and marathon relay will take place on Sunday, March 29th between 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. at the Expo. We do not mail out awards after the race. Please make travel plans accordingly.

We have a six hour time limit so as long as you can keep a 13.7 minute mile pace or better, you are welcome to walk.
